Had a Q about EasyJet and didn't see any threads on it, so besides for starting one for it, I figured there might as well be a thread to discuss all these cheap intra-European airlines. (Yes, there is an old thread on Ryanair with 1 page, don't kill me for it.)

Do prices on EasyJet generally get cheaper as time gets closer to the departure date?

Right now the 2 flights I want, VCE-NCE and NCE-FCO, are $75 and $79. Should I take a chance that the price will go down? (I see the same flights for much cheaper on different days than what I need. Does that mean they have random sale dates and my dates may become cheaper at some point?)

From my experience flying with Easyjet the closer to the flight you book the ticket the more expensive it gets. And the more in advance you book the ticket the cheaper it is. They also have a price calendar for most locations which show prices many many months in advance.

Aha, so maybe I should jump on these prices now then.

Ah, too bad they don't have these routes for when I need them.

Trick for getting cheaper tickets on easy jet: search a flight starting in UK (i. e. LGW-ORY) the add the flight (or flights) u really want then delete the flight starting from UK. Usually u can save a few bucks like this obviously provided ur not flying starting in UK anyway. The prices will be in GBP.

Tried this just now, and the price was actually $2 higher than when I tried just putting in the flight I wanted.

Anyone know how the currency exchange works? Prices show up in Euros and my 2 flights come out together to 200 euros, which according to Google is $275 USD, but when I toggle the currency on EasyJet to USD, it says the total is $285... any ideas?

Yeah... lol.

Do you think if I leave it in euros, it will charge my CC in euros and then Chase will give me the best exchange rate?

I would say they definitely won't charge you more. If it's a card without forex fees go for it.

Okay.

Next Q: Anyone have experience with their carry-on policy? If my bag doesn't exactly fit their dimensions by an inch or two, are they going to charge me to check it?

Just read up more on their policies. You can only bring 1 carry-on item including any personal items. That's crazy. You can't bring a bag + a backpack or a purse, etc. It's just 1 item per person. Hmm... this may turn out not to be an option for me anymore...

FYI I can get a slightly different flight VCE-MRS for $83.50 pax on AF. Allows 1 carryon and 1 personal item + a more established airline. Might just be worth it.
