never trust anyone who doesn't know how to spell "diligence".

As someone involved in a Yeshiva I was approached to "invest" in this "opportunity". I immediately contacted one of the "satisfied mosdos"  and was told (obviously) stay away.
This is the response I got from the "broker":
Thank you for your concern,

I know who I'm dealing with and I know that there is no intention of foul play. In either case the only way I would let anyone do it is if they pay by CC to enable the fraud protection that the CC offers - in case its necessary.

Besides, we see how yeshivos are actually getting their money back. I dont see how you can lose.

Most of all, I know that because the originator of the deal is someone that is not known to yeshivos, there isnt a single person who put in money without doing their due diligents. We are talking about sharp responsible people who wouldn't risk $10 let alone thousands of dollars without making sure they are protected. I am just taking the info for people so we can get the deal (it has to be ONE group). As nice of guy that I am, I know that people are not throwing vasts money my way because I am nice to people.

I believe that everyone who put in money did it for the same reason I did it, the CC protection. I dont think I came across a safer investment in my life. Did you?

Please, dont trust me. Do your own HW.

Check out the website that this $6 billion technology company managed to produce for themselves http://www.sungame.com/. I've built more impressive websites myself. While I was sleeping. In a treehouse. Without a computer.

Even if it wasn't a scam and you'd be able to make all your money back, one has to ask if this is yosher.

When people go up to shamayim, hashem is going to call a lot of us navul b'rushut ha'torah (including myself probably).

never trust anyone who doesn't know how to spell "diligence".

Or who doesn't know where to put the period when using quotations.

I've been advising all of the yeshivas here in Israel to invest heavily in this. No need for Lapid when there's easy money this way.

Or who doesn't know where to put the period when using quotations.

Or an American imperialist who doesn't understand that other people do things differently.

My .02 re periods:  one or two words--period outside of quotations, longer phrase or sentence--period within quotations.
IOW, IMHO @yhakak posted correctly.

IOW, IMHO @yhakak posted correctly.

Actually, in standard American usage the period ALWAYS goes inside the quotations, no matter what. In most other usages, it's a matter of logic; if the period was in the quote then it's inside, but if it's part of the sentence structure (not the quote) then it's outside.

But we digress. Other heilige yidden were trying to convince themselves that this scam was in some way an ethical and/or moral thing to do, when we (and they, i think) know that's not true. And before starting a technical pseudo-halachic argument about נבל ברשות התורה, have a look at the bottom of ערובין ק:ב

If it's not a scam (and you have better chances of getting hit by lightning than that) you're scamming the investors, breaking a few SEC regulations, scamming whatever entity provides the 'education' grant, etc.

Nope, don't see anything not yoshor about that... Hey as long as we make money it's all good, right? (/sarcasm)

You think there's actually an education grant? I was assuming this was part of the pyramid scheme...
