Very surprised to see you say that.
Do we say that rather than arresting a thief, we should tell people to get better security systems on their house?

Both approaches need to be taken. Education, and punishment for those responsible.
Them being busted and ppl seeing their friends messed over as a result is the strongest lesson there is.
I don't think it's up to us to decide who how or when to punish him, or even give him up to others (Feds) so others can punish him.
But we do have to stop this and publicizing his name might be the first step. Just the word punishment didn't sound right to me.

The word 'punishment' doesn't sound right?
Who does it sound right for? A thief? Rapist? Murderer?  I'm sorry to get extreme here, but that's an extremely juveline thing to write, and I've never seen you write that way before.

If they're screwing ppl over, and have done this time and time again, then punishment is the only way to make it stop.

Any way you can provide me with some proof so I can bring it to this guy (maybe it will help him if he knows earlier jess not getting his $$. He'll dispute so he stops paying interest on his charges...)

I don't have proof and frankly proof probably does not exist, I never said he won't get his money although he has better chances betting on flea races.
I have been following this for a while and I have tons of data points that don't add up. Everything just points to a scam. I am not entirely sure what the scam is though I have a pretty good idea, I just don't see any way for this to end well for anybody

Worth making a post on this crap or does it just legitimize it?
Either way it'll turn into a p$%^ing contest I'm afraid.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I think the smartest thing for you is not to say anything, you don't want the name Dansdeals associated with this in any way.

I have a rising suspicion that although these people have done shady things before this time they are the suckers to a higher power . And it's possible they are the ones getting scammed now

It would be a big chessed, if only one person is saved....

From a business POV, IMHO you can only lose from getting involved.

precisely but without the sarcasm font.  Although the line between what we do and this is quite discernable, for some they just get caught up in the search for the free buck

you can close comments on the post. I don't think that you should discuss a specific case, but a general post explaining the difference between a deal and a scam might be helpful as suggested earlier.

If the business plan is " even though it sounds too good you can't lose because you have protection from your cc" then it is a scam. I don't believe there is any cc protection when you know it is shady going in.

If you speak to anyone involved they'll tell you that they only got involved because they thought that they are covered by their credit card, and would be able to dispute.

And if they did as much due diligence on the company as they did on the cc policy...
