Thanks Dan for the eye-opening voicemail. In the frum community, as long as there are gullible people willing to be conned by scam-artist “daas torah” “rabbis” who will do anything to make a quick buck for personal gain, then there will always be victims. The strong conviction of the woman on the voicemail only comes about because her internal apprehension for investing is assuaged by knowledge that a “daas torah rabbi” is involved, which is how these scam artists are packaging all this to investors. The “rabbi” involved is already known to be an extremely crooked individual (he collects for dubious charities and investments), and he joined this bandwagon of scammers, using his clout, to recruit more investors.
