I know this is old but just saw link on fb, after reading much of this and wasting a day of work (I had a hangover any ways so it would not have been so productive) I am now more surprised people attack me for my mentality that yeshivot need to instill honesty, hardworking and thrift.

Personally I encountered a legal MLM so to speak that would have funded a charity org, both my lawyer and accountant said to stay away simply because you dont mix mosdos up with business affairs

I know amazon smiles is only %0.5,  but its better than bankrupting your entire community

So, before you do your chase freedom %5 amazon spend, be sure to use amazon smiles

And if you have a legit organization and want to do a wine and cheese fundraiser, drop me a pm, always glad to arrange em free

People are only ever trying to help themselves.
Anyone that claims otherwise is not being honest.

When everything looks good, anybody can be your friend. Once things start going sour, it's every man for himself.
So if you trusted somebody else, chances are you're going to lose.
Especially when it comes to money, then you see the real side of people. Greed.
I wish it weren't so with Jews, but unfortunately it's the same everywhere.

People that hide behind Yeshivos for their schemes/scams are even worse..

Your right, the real reason I do wine and cheese fundraisers is, I get to keep the leftover wine and cheese ;)

A legal MLM? I wonder how that would work.

How about this: We sue you, and you settle with us and pay, and then you sue other people and they will settle with you and pay, and then they sue other people who will settle with them and pay!  It's like an endless stream of cash!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affinity_fraud

"These scams exploit the trust and friendship that exist in groups of people who have something in common. Because of the tight-knit structure of many groups, it can be difficult for regulators or law enforcement officials to detect an affinity scam. Victims often fail to notify authorities or pursue their legal remedies, and instead try to work things out within the group. This is particularly true where the fraudsters have used respected community or religious leaders to convince others to join the investment."

the number of new accounts or members that only comment in this thread probably beats all other threads.

Where else are people supposed to go to talk about this? The "official" policy seems to be to ignore it. People need to vent somewhere.

Yea, but he seems to be bashing Sungames, not supporting it.

anyone know if they caught the scumbag Neil Chandran.. it shows he had a court case or hearing on July 17th. he seems to have stole a ton of money from a lot of ppl. also this rabbi from NJ is such a fraud. the last few weeks on some spare time i was able to recognize his style of writing and have put pieces together. he started that post on MHA and  is the one defending the post on the sungames scams ddf pages in different usernames. he also is the writer on TLS who wrote that anonymous letter saying  basically its okay to steal(i know i made that in my own words but it takes a fool to not see it that way) he is the same guy defending all the comments with a few different usernames. why is this guy walking around freely? i moved to Israel a while back but if i was there i would have a hard time not teaching him a lesson. at least he must be stopped and no its not lashon hara if you are helping yidden save their money and family.if someone doesn't have money and uses their cc for 50k and doesn't see money back since its fraud they have a big problem,..people can have so much agras nefesh from someone like this that he needs to be dealt with seriously.

Dan i hope what i wrote isn't too much since this is really a site for deals. and the best deals at that. but i had to let some anger go and rant.
