Tell me if I'm wrong but it's my understanding that the ani maamin foundations goal is educating rabbaim and parents not to avoid questions on emunah but actually answer them in a way the strengthens there emunah.

Thank you for getting back on topic.
In the world we live in questions will be asked.  We don't live in a shtetel were people did everything because of what there parents did.
Many people still live in that world. Do we ignore the fact that bringing up questions may weaken their Emunah.

What's wrong with educating ourselves so we can answer our children when they ask questions on emunah
nothing wrong, the letter was about incorporating proofs into the seder.

Nothing at all! But if we think that transmitting emuna to our children is as simple as having a short list of bullet point responses we are seriously missing the boat!
Unless the organization changes drastically in the last 2 years that is not at all what they are saying. They want rabbaim to be able to answers that come up. Of course most questions are more complicated then a 2 sentence answer but you have to start somewhere. The org was started because children were being demonized for daring to ask a question on emunah which is beyond terrible.

very funny. There's a difference between yelling at them and making a network for them.

Even if your point is valid, did it get worse since the attitude changed or not? And if it did get worse, maybe it's time for a reevaluation?
I think it got worse, but on the natural incline. I saw what was going on when I was a kid. IMO, the real difference is that once there is a network for them, people have a much harder time practicing ignorance. I don't believe the situation was exasperated by these networks
Then your glasses are shaded with hatred. Clean your glasses (attitude), find the spark of Ahavas Yisroel hidden under all your bitterness. It's not healthy to walk around with such hatred.

Your loving Lakewood brother,

You don't have to bring up questions.
Just know how to answer the questions that are asked.

It's against this ad

So back to the ad that sparked all of this, it sounds pretty innocent to me! I don't see anything about try to prove Emunah to your kid or try to change the seder and skip the yetzias mitzraiyim story and replace it with an Emunah session.

It was mentioned upthread several times that if the seder is done 'right' that will be the perfect transmission of emunah.
To me it looks like this ad is simply to educate parents on how to do a seder 'right'.
And the letter against it seems to be saying that emunah is a topic that shouldn't be spoken about...

Not sure. I think it's part of the herd mentality. I can tell you that I've probably spoken to a few hundred people living/planning on living here, and not one person said they were moving here for the chinuch. Just about everyone said because where else, or because that's where everyone else is. That's where your foundation of herd mentality keeps growing

There is also a lot of disregard for gedolei torah. Everyone picks their own Rav, and everyone else's is wrong. I'm shocked on how many people learning in BMG have told me they don't really hold of R' Matisyahu (unless he's agreeing with their rav). Maybe that's why he had to pick both sides of this argument. So Lakewood could finally once again be united under his psak ;)

I don't think I am qualified to know if making a club for OTD kids is good or bad. But one thing I do know, since the attitude changed in the frum community towards OTD kids, and the Love Mehalech became popular - the OTD problem has only gotten worse.
Is it because of the organized hangouts and the fact that they can do OTD and still have a family life? I don't know. But it definitely would make sense.

Now go ahead and kill me for not being open minded. Just please answer me this one thing - Has it gotten any better since the attitude changed or not?

I for one am undecided if we should go back to the "you're on your own" mehalech.
I find it very hard to believe that a kid goes otd only because he can still have a "family life" while being "otd". There is definilty a more significant reason s that leads to their otd behavior. Yes, perhaps not being shunned from the community and their homes allows them to express their behaviors with less repercussions but wouldn't threatening to shun them only cover up the real issue. Essentially they would be "frum" only to be accepted by the community. I don't view that as any better.

You don't have to bring up questions.
Just know how to answer the questions that are asked.
When you start proving something - by definition you are discussing if it is true or not. Many children never doubt for a second if it is true. ( many teenagers do doubt it, and mechanchim should be trained how to answer, and it should be known that questions are welcome)

Then I am sorry for accusing you of hate. I read your comments as that you hate Lkwd people , I thought only hate could lead to such exaggerated false accusations about lakewood's problems. I trust you that you don't. Please accept my apologies.
