Sammy would love to hear how busy it was, Cinkos, Room (East/West Tower closer/better?), waterpark, booking hotel kids activities in advance? Coming in 11 days. Thanks!

Flying out on 1/19 staying at Atlantis. Bahamas website has such conflicting information with regards to testing etc.

Update: The Bahamas now requires testing to be taken within 3 days of travel. (it used to be 5 days with testing day as day 0)
They say that an RT-PCR test is needed and it can take up to 48 hours for results and then another 24-48 hours for approval of the travel visa once the results are uploaded... so that it makes traveling to the Bahamas a lot more complicated.....
I got approved within 5 minutes of uploading negative PCR

Cinkos is really good food! Worth the price!
(It's not more expensive than any of the other 30 restaurants in the resort. Everything is expensive in the resort. )

Anyone know the official policy for bringing food ( frozen shabbos food, cheese etc)? Will be counting on it since Friday night for 3 adults + 2 children with Chabad at Baha Mar during yeshiva week is $475 ( VAT and Service fee added $100 bucks). So we will pass...
We brought a whole cooler full of food and no one asked any questions. There wasn't really any customs when we came. Just got our bags and left the airport. There was an agent at the exit ju watching.

Not shabbat friendly. Room lights are all sensors - you can cover before shabbat. I think the AC turns off when you open the balcony doors. Fridge light couldn't be disabled (sealed led that couldn't be unscrewed with some magnet mechanism that I couldn't disable). Doors are electric with no key. All staircases exit the property - no direct exit to the lobby. Also no way to reenter stairs from the lobby. Plus all staircase doors lock on every floor. You can follow someone up/down the elevator or ask the front desk to have someone escort you in the elevator (AYLOR). Funny story: I setup before shabbat to do exactly that. They called someone to walk me through the kitchen to the service elevator. We were chatting in the elevator and he asked why I couldn't take the regular elevator and why he had to press the button for me. Before I could answer he said: "oh. I know what you are. They told us about people like you. You are one of those.... What do you call them? Claustrophobic, right?"
In my experience, just the opposite. We stayed on the 7th floor n the east tower. (Which is really equivalent of like two flights up.) The only sensors we encountered were the balcony doors in the room, which we just kept closed.
And there's a staircase that goes outside from the east tower 7th floor. (And all the floors in the east tower for that matter).

I stayed in the West tower, rooms are really nicely designed.
Cinko Grill has very good food and the price was a little high but reasonable.
Went to the waterpark @10am, it was pretty empty, slides are lot's of fun (had no lines) and the lazy river is really beautiful and relaxing!
My visa was approved 5 hours after uploading my PCR test.
Didn't bring along my kids. But the resort seemed kid friendly to me.

How was the water temperature? Is it heated?

Second Update: Please Note: Effective 4 January 2022, all travelers, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, who are staying in The Bahamas for longer than 48 hours will be required to take a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test.
Where do you take this? Does the Baha Mar offer it?

Any data points on how the 48 hour test works?
Who's enforcing it and when exactly do you take it?

Did they tell you when you landed about it?
Will they cause issues upon exit?

They did not tell me that when I landed, at the hotel if your not vaccinated they ask you take a rapid test, that's also YMMV

Does anyone have a recommendation of whom to use for transportation from the airport (NAS) to Baha Mar Resort?
It's a short 10 min drive and I have heard that certain companies can really rip you off......

I was told that Bahamar provides transportation? At least that’s what Delta vacations told me?

Not complementary as far as I know. You could arrange a pickup though.
(Taxi's are probably cheaper, we payed $29 for 2 ppl with baggage)

Went straight to the official taxi stand, the random people approaching us were quoting us $65 or more...

I was told that if your staying for a week you don't do the test after 48 hours rather you do the test on Day 5. When i asked the hotel on the phone who we have to show the Day 5 Negative test to they said they don't think anyone, but that we just need it if we leave the hotel and want to come back in.

Can anyone confirm if anyone in the Bahamas, including at the airport had to show the negative Day 5 Test to anyone or upload it anywhere?
