Freeze and bring your own?

I read that fruit, veg, milk aren’t allowed but don’t know how credible that is.

You paid with a CC?
Yes. In the end I messaged him and he's like oh it's a system error. LOL. For all those who don't bother he ends up pocketing those few bucks and bills again at a later date.

Anyone planning a trip to the Bahamas in early June? Trying to find out if there's any chance for a minyan there.

I'm looking at pics of the restaurant options in bahamar. to be honest none of this looks good to me. Also, are these prices in dollars? Because it's quite pricey as well.
Seems to me like there's no food option for a Simple-Sam like me who wants a nice big burger or a nice Rib Steak on the bone with fries. or a falafel,  a slice of pizza, calzone for lunch. seems like i can get a bagel and cream cheese for $16?
All this food looks super fancy shmancy, shtatty karate.
Im looking to spend a few extra shekels to go there, with the kosher food on site being a huge factor. if its not my style and i'll end up bringing all my own food, then i needa find a different cheaper destination.
I'd appreciate anyone who can speak from experience.

Yeah the food is a bit funkier, but it was solid and may be fun for u to go out of your comfort zone a lil. note the steak is not a classic steak, its cut up slices they sear.  Still u can't undervalue getting fresh kosher hot fries and simple cheese flatbread (u should like both) and a beer on a beautiful carribean beach when staying at a hotel on points :).
note i think the bagels actually are no longer under hechsher so u dont even have that...

Go to GH Playa

I would love to. We went to rivera/playa mexico 2 summers ago. wife refuses to go same place twice (i feel, if it's good, lets do it again (but we all know who will win the argument)).

Are there any other tropical places with kosher in-house food besides these two?

reminds of the last time i went to this kinda place in NY. Spent $350 on dinner. tiny portions. didn't like the food. Left hungry. Went to holy shnitzel for second supper right after.

While it's hard to separate the fact that I ate there while I was in the Bahamas, I think I'm still able to say that were Cinko in the USA, it'd be top 5 in the country between the ambiance, the service, and and food. I found the food to be phenomenal, and while I was there (NOT a busy time, e.g. Yeshiva Week), they were turning goyim away who did not have reservations, so the proof is in the pudding.

This is not a steak and fries place, so if you're looking for that, go to Miami.

Go to GH Playa

If he thinks the prices at Cinko are high, the kosher that is onsite there (a "huge factor" of his) is going to make him cry.

While there are a bunch of cheaper places that are within walking distance, they're not "onsite."

But you can get a burger and fries at the GHP poolside or at restaurants within walking distance. That's not a thing at GHBM.

Not that I can think of offhand, though personally I don't count Playa or the Bahamas as tropical.

They're not beautiful places, they're resort factories that have pools and kosher food. I don't see why you'd need to go somewhere new where you won't like the food just to not repeat a destination.

I dont think the Goyim has anything to do with it, they probably want to try all the restaurants and had no idea it was kosher

II'm not suggesting they went there *because* it was kosher. The fact of the matter is that the restaurant was so busy they were turning away non-Jewish walk-ins *who offered to wait* every single night of my stay.

Whether it was the menu or repeat customers, folks were trying to get a meal there.
