PSA:  For all SCUBA divers, the Stuart Cove's shark adventure is a must.  Baiting sharks is illegal almost everywhere else in the world so it's a unique and really cool experience.

Did you stay there? Any recommendations for best tower to stay with kids?
the cove can be good with kids as well.  There are two designated pools for the cove, one adult only and the other for families.

Comfort Suites Paradise island although may be better off just paying depending on the price for your dates.

Well just got my cancellation email from Hyatt for my thanksgiving stay and without any offer for compensation. Working on that front now and hope to get something.

Time to start planning an alternate trip.

Depends on exactly what you are looking for. The cove is definitely nicer. The royal tower is more centrally located and less pricey (still a lot nicer than the other towers)

Just Booked this for LDW.

JFK-NAS 15K DL
NAS-MIA-EWR 12.5K AA

Hyatt is sold out. Don't have enough Marriot points for Atlantis. Any other lodging suggestions?

besides the actual hotel being a lot nicer, the cove has a few private pools that can only be used by cove guests.

With kids? Or the private cove pools are adult only?

I'm researching excursions. It looks like Exuma is a nicer island/area than the touristy Nassau/Paradise Island area..

Flights for: NAS-GGT (George Town/Exuma) are $150 RT

Or I can take this Speed Boat for a day trip at $ 200 pp http://www.powerboatadventures.com

Anyone have any experience or advise with these?

Is exuma the island with the pink sand? I was planning on going there while in Nassau but didn't end up working out. Sounded really great though from the little research I did. There's day tours that go there as well

I'm pretty sure the pink sand is on Eleuthra Island.

I believe flights are a similar price there from NAS, as well.

Exuma is very underdeveloped if that is something that you like, it was actually on secretflying a few weeks ago, with very cheap flights from Air Canada. Nassau is for sure very touristy, and everything is expensive.

Stayed at the Reef with kids (6 and 4 at the time) and thought it was perfect. Room had small kitchenette, pull out couch and balcony. The pools and beach by the Reef were also generally quiet. We took the shuttle to the main areas but didn't mind that at all. This was at the beginning of my DD days so while the flights were with points, I paid OOP for the room.
