the royal is old and outdated
additionally the cove pol has more access to the cove areas
Ambiance and service will be much nicer in the cove

Well worth the extra points.

Royal is swamped by 6+ Buildings guest!
Beach
coral
royal
cove
reef
harbor

i forget if theres more...

DO NOT DO IT AT HOTEL

while its convenient
1. its more expensive

BUT

2. You don't get to interact with them the same as you do off site
Here's a photo of 2 Dolphins lifting someone across the water

Price sounds crazy. Maybe book with hyatt? Or consider atlantis with marriott/spg

Are you traveling with kids?

Grand Hyatt is closer to the airport, a newer property with great pools and beautiful casino. Beach was a bit disappointing - but all the non-motorized water activities (kayak, stand up paddle board, snorkels, etc.) are included in the resort fee.

Atlantis has the benefit of a nicer beach, water park, but is crowded and the rooms are older/tired (see all the comments up thread regarding the various towers) and everything has a cost (aside from the two free bottles of water you get when you check in).

The waterpark is a huge plus if you have kids that meet the height limit. Not so much fun when some kids meet the height requirement and others don't.

Thanks!! Not traveling with kids. Decided on Hyatt, though I really hope the beach isn’t too disappointing. Did you bring food to the Hyatt to warm up? How are they in that regard?
