Just bring a lot of money
GC is a very expensive island

Thanks, you mean for excursions? Transport?
Was it worth it? (dumb question, I know it's all subjective, but still...)

Grand Cayman by far.

Disagree.  Water is calmer by Bahamas and the beaches are quieter plus I think the water is a little clearer

I would disagree to your disagree

but your points are true about calmness

the sand was butter It was the nicest sand I have ever felt and the water was pristine in GC

But the price tag will keep me away

Apologies to everyone for derailing this thread! Thanks for enumerating pros to each, would rather have nicer scenery than calm water.

Anybody know about Points policy for the suits at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar.

During Yeshiva week I can book a standard room with points but not a suite. It says : "Unfortunately, this hotel is not accepting World of Hyatt points or award during those dates. Explore our other rates or modify your search.". I thought there are no black out dates with Hyatt?

Alternatively, can I book a standard room with cash and then upgrade to a suite with points?

According to this, shouldn't Platinum members be entitled to complimentary breakfast at Atlantis? It is an Autograph Resort

Anyone knows?
I sent a twitter DM to marriott, marriott rewards, autograph collection, and spg assist. The only one that wrote back was spg assist:

Me: I had a question. I am now a Platinum Premier Elite member with marriott.  I'll be  staying at the Reef in the Atlantis, Bahamas. I wanted to know what the benefits/welcome amenities are for me at that property. My understanding is that they changed from what they used to be. Do we get  breakfast, etc. now?  Thank you!

SPG Assist: Thank you for sharing this with us. For more information, please view the link here https://spg.to/2QpwyCr  under section 4.3c

Me: hard to decipher with resort or non-resort. can you just give me the answer?specifically for the Reef Tower at the Atlantis in the Bahamas

SPG Assist: That property is a resort. We hope this helps.

Me: so can you please confirm that as a plat I will get free breakfast?

SPG Assist: As per our terms, as your stay is at an Autograph Collection that is a resort you would receive 1,000 Points per Stay or F&B amenity per Stay or breakfast in restaurant per day of Stay for the Member +1.

Of course, and I did. Marriott look no further guarantee FTW (matched to the lower price and gives 25% off that rate).

This particular reservation, Agoda had a significantly lower rate at the time of my booking.  I've successfully used the look no further 4 times in the past few years.

I called the Hyatt regarding either suite upgrade or suit points stay at the Bahama Mar. While I can book a variety of suites online for cash, they say there are no points stays for suits available. Is there anything I can do?
