Even if you want your DashCam on 24hrs. You'll have it direct wired to the battery with a relay and fuse or tap it into another live fuse in the fuse box.

 But nomatter what you do they make and automatic cutoff which will turn off the power to the dash if your battery falls below 11.7V.

 Or you can wire it to a fuse that gets cut off when you take the key out and only has power when you drive and not on while parked.

Why would I want it on a fuse that always draws power instead of relying on the battery capacity of the dash cam for those potential "record while parked" situations? I dont see the reward outweighing the risk of having a dead car battery

So can record during the daytime , and directly connected to battery without using cars cigarette plug and having wires all over..

No wires in the car is good. But i'd still rather hardwire to a fuse that turns off. Maybe i'm more worried about battery drain than damage while parked, but i like to think i can have both if my dash cam battery is enough for the occas
ions where the sensor gets activated

Key feature is clear view where the license plates are easily read, day or night.

Don't think I need "smart" features like an app etc, a micro SD card is sufficient.

Would like one that is unobtrusive, inside and out, like the one mentioned above.

I just bought one of these.

They sent me a free hard wire kit, screen protector for the mirror and extra long cable for the rear camera (although in the end, the original wrote works fine for me). All I did was small and ask for the hard wire kit.

So far it's working fine.

So the Viofo that I bought 5 years ago (and it’s marginally improved successors) are still the best option for a camera that records decent video quality?

Some notes on the Viofo that he does not mention:
• Capacitor powered and not battery, so if you live somewhere with large temperature swings There isn’t a risk of the battery exploding. You can still have a parking sensor, but you have to hardwire it to the cars battery power.
• The GPS sensor is a separate attachment to the camera, so if you think that the GPS data will hurt more than help, you can just mount the camera without the GPS.
• The screen and big buttons are nice to use once you figure out what they do.
• you can set it to auto-save clips triggered by motion so they don’t get automatically overwritten.

One potential downside of no battery is that if you get into an accident you cannot just take the camera out of the car with you to record the immediate situation, but I guess we all have phones these days that would work.

This is 4k - much higher resolution than the Viofo you linked to.

Is it actually clearer?
Watch the video, most of these are just up scaling to 4K but don’t pick up any more detail.
You can have as many pixels as you want, but if the camera and processor is bad it will just be a Shmeary mess
