I have an old blackvue 650s 2ch that just stopped working. It records but in black. It is hardwired with their power magic pro and my installer tell me that the new models cannot just be plugged into the old wiring setup.Anyone familiar with this and can tell me if there are any models that I could buy and simply swap out my 650s?TIA
Given the average price to quality ratio of modern dashcams, I would just buy an older flagship phone and mount it to my windshield. Will probably come out cheaper as well.Linus tech tips did a video on how they're all pretty much the same, same sensors are used on most dashcams.
Looking for a dual facing dash cam that can be hard wired, thanks in advance for reccomendations
I just bought one of these. They sent me a free hard wire kit, screen protector for the mirror and extra long cable for the rear camera (although in the end, the original wrote works fine for me). All I did was small and ask for the hard wire kit.So far it's working fine.
WowSo the Viofo that I bought 5 years ago (and it’s marginally improved successors) are still the best option for a camera that records decent video quality? Some notes on the Viofo that he does not mention:• Capacitor powered and not battery, so if you live somewhere with large temperature swings There isn’t a risk of the battery exploding. You can still have a parking sensor, but you have to hardwire it to the cars battery power.• The GPS sensor is a separate attachment to the camera, so if you think that the GPS data will hurt more than help, you can just mount the camera without the GPS.• The screen and big buttons are nice to use once you figure out what they do.• you can set it to auto-save clips triggered by motion so they don’t get automatically overwritten. One potential downside of no battery is that if you get into an accident you cannot just take the camera out of the car with you to record the immediate situation, but I guess we all have phones these days that would work.Edit: DD link to camera:https://www.amazon.com/VIOFO-Enhanced-Vision-Starvis-Parking/dp/B07SRQH4R7?tag=cI03f-20
