Doing Construction and Paying for Materials
« on: November 09, 2014, 08:47:09 PM »
I've been a DansDeals reader for awhile, just joined DDF. I'm planning on buying a new house and it needs construction, including approximately $3,000 of materials and $1,000 of appliances. I have the money in my accounts to pay for it, but I want to get the max that I can out of such a large transaction. I already have Starwood, Marriott Rewards, and Capital One Quicksilver. Any recommendations? Should I use one of the cards I already have, and if yes, which one? Or should I sign up for a new card? Which one?

Thank you

Get an Ink Plus and buy HD or Lowe's GCs from Staples for 5 points per dollar+1% cash back?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

@Dan thanks for the reply. The problem is that I applied for it and was rejected, even after asking them to review it twice. I have a pretty good credit score, but short credit history (a little less than two years), and therefore I was rejected. Any other ideas?

Thank you

cardcash.com has a great deal right now for Lowes GC 10% off!!! (Home depot 7% off).
Also if you purchase more then 1k of credit they will give you an additional 3% off listed discount, and hotel stay.
Read the directions (it has to come straight out of your bank account for that).

Additionally sign up for your move on lowes.com and receive an additional 10% off your full purchase (one time) (you can use the same coupon at home depot for a price match).

Do you know if there is anywhere that I can find a list of the stores which AMEX considers to be grocery stores? The ones near me don't sell GC's.

Home depot is on sale for another 4% off with the code take4 for this week
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

How do you do this? What do you mean, "sign up for your MOVE"?

Anyone ever get a hotel stay from them? is it one of those that's impossible to redeem?

Haha btw if your using GC then you might as well find an home depot account that has tax exempt.
