Barclay Arrival Points - Need to spend

I'M going to Cancel my arrival card due to the Annual Fee and most likely forfeit my points. I have $250 worth the reimburse travel expensis.

Any suggestions on the best use of this "credit"? I don't want to buy a refundable ticket. I have no travel plans for the foreseeable future..

Have you tried asking them to waive the AF?

I can't do that until it is due, and I don't want to wait until then just to have them say "no".

-1. Just called yesterday, they waived it, not due till the end of May. Also, you have 60 days to cancel.

How do you define travel?
A travel purchase and redemption is defined as: Airlines, Travel Agencies & Tour Operators, Hotels, Motels & Resorts, Cruise Lines, Passenger Railways and Car Rental Agencies as defined by the merchant category code. Purchases made at merchants that do not process transactions under these terms or that use incorrect MasterCard merchant category codes will not qualify. Barclaycard is not responsible for incorrectly coded purchases.


I suggest booking a flight for a friend and having them pay you back and having Barclays reimburse you too.

Just don't do it on one of those airlines that requires you to present the payment card at check-in!

Worst case, you can buy a gift certificate for a hotel or car rental agency that you think you might use in the future.
