Which card to use for car rental?
« on: April 29, 2014, 10:42:51 AM »
Not sure if this belongs here or in the on the road section.
Which of the following card provides the best car rental protection?  Does it make a difference if I book straight through the rental company VS Priceline VS Priceline name your own price?

I have the following:
AMEX Starwood
Visa Sapphire Preferred
MC InkBold
Visa UAL MileagePlus Select
Visa Freedom

Chase United MileagePlus Explorer card offers PRIMARY rental car insurance. Be sure to decline the CDW/LDW from the rental car company.
(certainly in the US. Not sure about Intl)

Does not make a diff how you reserve/book PROVIDED you use the MileagePlus Explorer card to pay for the entire rental.

In the US, if you have your own auto insurance policy - yes.

In the future it would be nice if you used the search option before starting a new thread. For example, right here or here
