Is this phone good to replace a basic verizon phone which is on a plan?

I have a few basic phones on a verizon plan and could use backups for when they break etc.  Can this phone be used as a basic phone on a regular Verizon plan without being unlocked or anything?

No its only gonna work on prepaid not page plus and not Verizon regular plan
