Topic Wiki

This is the thread for all random/general questions about Southwest. The official airline code for Southwest is WN as SW was taken by Air Namibia, but many people on the forums refer to Southwest as SW since no one talks about Air Namibia ever.

For questions about any of the SW CC's, see here.
For questions about the SW Companion Pass, see here.
For questions about auto-checkin to SW flights, see here. (Follow the wiki to learn how to set it up.)

Can't pay off the last $14.10 of my flight with vouchers, they want actual cash. I forgot how much that amount normally is, but I thought it was just the $5.60 9/11 fee. Am I wrong?

If you're on an award, the only fee that should be collected is the security fee.

Thanks. It's not an award, though, so the other fees make sense? (The fact that a voucher can't pay for them?)

On my LAX-SEA-EWR trip this summer I had to use cash to pay for the taxes.
WN's policy is that LUV vouchers can only be used to pay for the flight, not the taxes and surcharges.
Cough it up @Yehuda! lol

Thanks. Yeah I paid it yesterday, I just wanted to make sure there weren't mistaken fees here. Thanks! :)

Seeing that I can only hold it for about 30 seconds, I don't think I'll try.

"You cannot book travel past the expiration of your account. Please try an earlier date" how does this make sense? and what can i do about it?

That's strange. I wonder if you can book a ticket and then cancel it, would that extend the validity of your miles?

Is there any way other than transferring points?

I'm sure you can buy a magazine subscription for ~500 points.

looking at a SW trip 10,500 points plus $50 taxes does it make sense to transfer UR to SW the miles or rather pay $232
