Topic Wiki

This is the thread for all random/general questions about Southwest. The official airline code for Southwest is WN as SW was taken by Air Namibia, but many people on the forums refer to Southwest as SW since no one talks about Air Namibia ever.

For questions about any of the SW CC's, see here.
For questions about the SW Companion Pass, see here.
For questions about auto-checkin to SW flights, see here. (Follow the wiki to learn how to set it up.)

looking at a SW trip 10,500 points plus $50 taxes does it make sense to transfer UR to SW the miles or rather pay $232
The points value here is over 1.7 cents. Id personally go with points on this one.

That's what I thought, but I haven't seen int'l flights for just 10,500. Unless that's just from BWI-Intl. Perhaps it's that much cheaper from there.

No, they're very good at making sure all vouchers keep their original date. In fact, if you do what you're suggesting and pay with a CC for the amount that's over the voucher amount, when you cancel it, all the money (including the new money from the CC payment) will get locked into the original voucher date.

I booked a Wanna geta away fair instead of a anytime fair to redeem Arrival points. Seems like I can cancel the ticket and I will get a credit to use within the year. Can you extend that credit by booking another ticket and then cancelling it? Can I book a ticket for someone else with that credit?

I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Currently taking a sw flight from bwi to fll with connection in ind. They pushed back indi flight 3 hours causing me to miss my connecting flight. Am I entitled to anything from sw?

Ask them to put you on a direct flight

They did but 5 hours later. I have standby options but unlikely I get on them. Worst case scenario I go to airspace lounge for  a few hours I have plat card.
