Topic Wiki

This is the thread for all random/general questions about Southwest. The official airline code for Southwest is WN as SW was taken by Air Namibia, but many people on the forums refer to Southwest as SW since no one talks about Air Namibia ever.

For questions about any of the SW CC's, see here.
For questions about the SW Companion Pass, see here.
For questions about auto-checkin to SW flights, see here. (Follow the wiki to learn how to set it up.)

I want to buy SW tickets with my UR points. I don't have an account with SW and it asks for a promo code (if I have one..)
Is this the best way to buy the tickets or buy them from UR?

create a SW account and then transfer your UR into it, then book.

They did but 5 hours later. I have standby options but unlikely I get on them. Worst case scenario I go to airspace lounge for  a few hours I have plat card.
Deffinetly call customer relations the number is on their website. If it's their fault IME they will give you some sort of voucher.

Cant find a proper thread so ill post here (closest to my inquiry).

Just book 2 dirt cheap reward flights in septemeber from LGA-Chicago. I noticed i booked one day off of what i wanted (i was rushing). I tried to change the tickets and southwest did an even exchange with no extra taxes (IE it costs $0). What is there flight changing policy and if i were to cancel would i get the 5.60 a flight back?
TIA

Southwest awards are fully refundable.

If you find a lower fare after you booked you can get the lower fare and get a refund of the difference in miles.

If you decide to cancel you will be refunded the taxes.

Got it! Thanks!
FYI the credit info is very sensitive and requires the passenger to have the exact name.

I have a short 1 way SW flight coming up but I never fly them so is there anywhere else I can credit the mileage I'll earn to? A hotel loyalty program maybe?

Not possible, Rapid Rewards is your only option.

Just FYI, due to "weather problems"  southwest let me change my flight for free and didn't charge me the difference... My destination is lax. Not sure if it's working for all destinations...

I would like to see a list of different SW destinations from a certain airports but only certain times ( late afternoon)meaning I can only depart after 7pm. I'm flexible as to destination. Must be from NYC airports.
 Where can i find it?
