Topic Wiki

This is the thread for all random/general questions about Southwest. The official airline code for Southwest is WN as SW was taken by Air Namibia, but many people on the forums refer to Southwest as SW since no one talks about Air Namibia ever.

For questions about any of the SW CC's, see here.
For questions about the SW Companion Pass, see here.
For questions about auto-checkin to SW flights, see here. (Follow the wiki to learn how to set it up.)

Flying with a 7 and 9 year old next month to florida. If I purchase early boarding for myself, anyone have any experience knowing if they will allow my kids  to board with me  if i didnt pay for early boarding for them? I tweeted SW and they gave me a vague response suggesting I pay for everyone...anyone have experience with this?  thanks

They won’t, technically y’all need to board with the last person in your group if you want to board together.  Technically ”Family Boarding” is if you have someone 6 or under but they won’t check.  Assuming your LOR is ok with it, just board after the A group during family boarding.

right family boarding is 6 and under..so if i dont fib my kids age, there is no point of just purchasing early boarding for myself?

You never know and you can always ask.
This might be drop a different but I know a group of 14 year olds traveling together by themselves and Southwest gave them early boarding before everyone else.

I am CP on DW account. Had an emergency and DW can't fly back to MDW with me. We are both checked in and I already went through security. Can I fly as CP without her flying?

I doubt you will have an issue as long as you don't try to cancel her ticket. Not speaking from experience though. Would it be a big deal to cancel both and rebook one on your own?
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

So keep quiet and fly.
If you're not cancelling your wife's ticket, SW is being paid for your seat. (At the price it was selling for at the time you booked it.)
I hope all goes well with your/ your wife's emergency.

No one checks ID to match BP before boarding the plane.

If I pay for Wi-Fi can I get it on both laptop and phone or just one device?

One device (but you can tether from one to the other).

It's not just the boarding, I'd be comfortable once the door closes.

No door close yet. Should have given DW ticket to a standby female passenger.
