Citi A/A
« on: May 01, 2014, 03:29:27 PM »
Was just notified that Citi closed ALL my CC accounts. I've been a customer for many years and have some of my oldest cards with them. They can only tell me that it was for "security reasons" and that the decision is "non-negotiable." The rest of the info, they say, will be sent to me within 7 to 10 business days. Has anyone had this before? Is Citi taking a page out of Chase's book?

This was unheard of in a long time.

Couldn't find any threads discussing it. Any links?

All i did was apply for a third Citi Executive and open two new amex cards (with sizable CLs) some two weeks ago. Never heard of any of that being an issue for Citi.

Some large CVS purchases (back in the VR days) and some AP usage. Nothing that ever bothered Citi until now, AFAIK.

Wasn't his closure for the 5% 'abuse'? And did they close all his cards?

When did you apply? Did you have to call to get approval? Perhaps something said during that conversation?
