I tweeted them and got a reply very quickly asking me to PM my phone# and time to call. Of course the rep who called could do nothing. He is supposedly getting in contact with my branch and seeing what could be done. Fat chance...
The branch can't do anything even if they wanted.

Most of the people on the twitter team are not even familiar with the account closure's I'm sure they are learning quick...
Which is why I think we should keep tweeting. Hopefully it can bring some attention to this.

Are you 100% sure?

I'm not trying to make myself meshuga. I'm just repeating whatever the reps on Twitter/Citi Chat told me to do.

Was anyone who was closed by Citi involved in piggybacking with authorized users?

For all of you who were shut down, were any of you Citi Gold or Citi Private Bank customers?

If you don't go to withdraw the money they will just mail you a bank check.

My point is they claim on the phone they just need to verify somethings in branch and they will reopen account. I doubt it's true but I'll try to get into a branch to find out.

They are guessing that...they want you to go to the bank and have the branch explain why high utilization / large transaction were done. Not sure why they give high credit lines if u can't use them...

Well the Twitter reps managed to get a rep to call me from my local branch. She of course didn't know anything and the notes indicating the closure don't explain it either. She now has to go to her back office to figure this out.
Citi is pathetic. No wonder they cave to Operation Choke Point. They took the government bailout and now they are their lap dogs.

EDIT: Comical! Bank reps and bank managers were shot down by the "back office". I kept telling the bank firmly the reason they kept providing ("we have reviewed your accounts and decided to close it"), is not a REASON but and explanation of the action they were doing. The rep got nasty and hung up!
We already had another smaller bank come into the office today and I met with them. After seeing my accounts they were very happy to have me on board. Makes me wonder why citi is really struggling as a bank ::)
