I had one citi card for many years. Last month finished my 10k spending and now both my cards are closed!!!

I had high spending on the card when the bill closed. I mailed in a check but it processed a day late.

Just received notification for the closure of my bank account from citi. Clueless why... I really didn't play any shtick with them. I hope it isn't my credit cards as well. Hopefully Monday I'll get some answers...

does the letter reference the bank account and then cc close? Or does the letter reference the credit cards?

The bank letter only references the bank accounts to give you 30 day notice so you can stop direct deposit and arrange auto withdrawals from another account.
The credit cards they don't give you notice so you don't max them out before they shut it. It seems to be the credit cards were close 7 days after letter was sent out.
In addition it not from yesterday this card closing is in the works for months 1,000 of ppl have been closed. Citi closed business cards also...

The banks didn't decided last week. They do research for months which account they want to wipe out.

No way they closed this many people down and letter arrived on same day by last minute move. This is something they had to be planning for some time.
Is it a sure thing my credit cards will be shut down now as well? I got the letter for the bank closure...
