My 30 day period to cancel my card and get the $450 AF refunded was the 20th.  I'm one day late. Is there anything I can do at this point?

Is funding a Citi bank account, something that can get you shut down?

Not only have I had no luck opening a new account with Citi after mine was A/A's December of last year, it appears that they are denying my wife's application because of my shut down. I suspect this because when she called up after applying to get an 'instant answer' they asked for the Additional User's Date of birth, probably to see if it matches to my account that they have flagged on their system.

It's a shame I didn't think of that at the moment, otherwise I would have told her to make something up for the DOB. Also, she has a 768 credit score with very few pulls in the last 2 years, she should have been instantly approved, instead they said it needs further review and to come back in 7 days, which to me is usually a denial. To me, this seems even tougher than Chase.

In hindsight, I should have 1) Not added myself as an AU on the online Application 2) used a different address for my wife, like here parent's address, they probably matched my her address to mine.

No, made out to Citi but from someone other than myself. In my case it was a company check.

I had the same story, they shut me down for paying with my company checks.

They shut my wife's accounts as well, because I was a AU on her account.

I am not even trying to open in my name, but I was wondering if I should try to open a card in her name?

I pay them all time with checks made out to me, is that also considered a 3rd party check?

Did you see my post upthread? my wife got denied because of me. If you do try to open a new account in her name, make sure to use a new address for her and obviously don't add yourself as an AU. That's the least I would. Citi is notorious for linking accounts and shutting down peopleand imho worse than Chase.

I understand.

My question was, was your wife shut down originally when they shut you down. Or did they link your accounts only after you applied?

I was originally shut down before we were married.
