No such 18 month language on Citi business apps
I'm pretty sure most citi business aa cards had the 18 month language in it up until recently

Not only have I had no luck opening a new account with Citi after mine was A/A's December of last year, it appears that they are denying my wife's application because of my shut down. I suspect this because when she called up after applying to get an 'instant answer' they asked for the Additional User's Date of birth, probably to see if it matches to my account that they have flagged on their system.

It's a shame I didn't think of that at the moment, otherwise I would have told her to make something up for the DOB. Also, she has a 768 credit score with very few pulls in the last 2 years, she should have been instantly approved, instead they said it needs further review and to come back in 7 days, which to me is usually a denial. To me, this seems even tougher than Chase.

In hindsight, I should have 1) Not added myself as an AU on the online Application 2) used a different address for my wife, like here parent's address, they probably matched my her address to mine.
This is the denial letter I got from Citi for the above application:

Unfortunately, we can't approve your application...
We reviewed your application and can't approve it because: We received notification from another Citi business that your relationship with Citi has been reviewed and it was determined that we can no longer service any accounts for you.
/ end quote

I guess we're both screwed now with Citi..

Did you ever try opening a bank account with them? Are you also blacklisted from that?

I have been able to open a bank account with Citi. In addition, my advantage business card was not closed, although I doubt they would approve me for a new one.

I have done nothing to pursue an approval after the above letter of denial. I feel that it would be a waste of my time, although I don't know this for a fact I just know from my experience with Chase a/a and I reason that Citi is likely the same. So feel free to try and push and let me know if you get anywhere.

All my personal cards were closed, I had one AAdvantage card which remains open, although like I said above I have a feeling they would not approve me for a new business card.

Many have had success with getting re-accepted to Chase after waiting a year or two by calling the executive department, myself included. It may be worth writing a letter to Mr. Ken Stork.
