If you have a place in the mountains or where T-Mobile does not officially have service, you can change your address and then tell them there's no service and you want to get out of your contract.

If you're switching to Cingular, I've seen posted on the discussion post that they will sort of refund you the other company's ETF.

Good luck getting out. I used to have Tmobile and they have the worst customer service ever.

I think you can suspend the service and pay only $5-10  a month while not using it and if u need to activate it again,
all u have to do just call them and there is no activation fees.  I did it before with ATT while was out of US and paid only $10 for that month instead of $100

I heard that after you reactivate it you will still need to finish your contract term from where you left off.

May vary by carrier.
