Saba wants to give me 23k ThankYou Points

My Saba told me he wants to give me 23k ThankYou Points 

1. What the hell are ThankYou points and what are they good for? My research showing not really redeemable for anything other than cash. I'd like to get miles esp. if they are worth more than 1cpp but.. I suppose cash ain't bad at 1cpp.

2. Can he even transfer them to me? He told me "I have all these ThankYou points, and since you love points, I want to transfer them to you"  . I guess if he couldn't he could worst case just cash them out and give me the check if I decided to go cash route (I want miles though!!!!!!!).

Thanks you points are transferable, they are worth 1.3cpp when redeemed on airfare (not 100% sure), the ticket will be booked through their website thankyou.com using the points to pay

But you probably need a citi account that has TY points to transfer into. Otherwise the OP can have his savta order gift cards that he can use or order something on amazon and use TY points to pay.

Or he can use Saba's cc to buy stuff directly and use the points to pay.
Or, for better value, book travel on his card because

Otherwise the OP can have his savta order gift cards that he can use or order something on amazon and use TY points to pay.

Not sure. Why not check hilton or TY site. If you have student loan or US mortgage, you can get a check for that as well. They also just added walmart. Not sure how that works or value of points.

Travel can be booked through the Ty website and the points will be redeemed automatically.
Ex you have a ticket that costs 390$ you can pay 30k points and that's it.
The ticket doesn't have to be in the account holders name.
Transferring to Hilton won't give you more value almost always so it doesn't pay (unless to top up your account)

Care to elaborate? I looked into how far 34k HHilton points would get me. As an example 5 nights in a miami hotel downtown is 135$/night for 5 nights or 30,000 points. Meaning the points were redeemed at 675$! not bad. and higher than the other 1.3 cpp airline quotes that were listed before.

This is very interesting- and not bad either. But still wondering why you think it's better? My saba lives in NYC and I'm in Tel Aviv, so this might be trickier to do with his cc without me being physically there to do it myself.
