Umbrella Stroller- carry on?
« on: May 08, 2014, 12:45:56 PM »
Hi all!
We are planning on making a stop-over for a few hours in Spain on our way to New York, and would really love to be able to have our umbrella stroller in the interim. I'm assuming that means we need to bring it as a carry on (please CMIIW!). According to Iberia's website (which for some reason prints info from American Airlines- I'm hoping it's the same), you can bring an umbrella stroller on the plane as long as it can fit in the overhead compartment (http://www.iberia.com/jba/aa/en_US/specialAssistance/childrenTraveling.html)

I was just wondering if people have experience with doing this, and if it will actually work. Also, how big can the stroller be to fit in the overhead compartment?
TIA!

You do not need to bring it on the plane.
You give it to them before getting onto the plane and give it back as soon as you get off the plane.

When you gate check your stroller you will get it as soon as you walk off the plane.

We fly all the time with our Bugaboo Donkey and fold it up right before getting on the plane.

You can always ask at check in for large plastic baggage/stroller bags to protect your stroller.
