marriott free night expiring

I have a free night for marriot which i got for signing up for their credit card. however it is expiring in about 2 weeks. I called a cople of times to try to extend it but they said that visa issued the free night and is very strict on the expiration. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks!

sell it or give it away and book under your name and have as a guest the purchaser
