Upgrade for W Hotel- anyone have?

Does anyone have an upgrade for w hotel - 14,500 gets a good room but suite is 24,000 starpoints for wedding night.  Looking to find a way to get room secured for free or cheaper -thank you.

As has been suggested have you tried calling and asking? I have found most hotels to be very accommodating when you tell them it's your wedding night

Thank you - tried calling and asking no help.  They said if something available that night perhaps could upgrade - but then said they don't assume suites will be available then.

I reserved a room in the W Union Square, and put I put in a special request for an upgrade. They called me back saying that they can't guarantee an upgrade until the day of. Anyone have any tips for me?

my experience was calling and asking for the general manager, i then got her secretary who confirmed an upgrade with many additional perks (flowers, champagne etc...).
