New program details.

Most significant here is probably no Premium Economy at time of booking for Silvers.

Also, upgrades based on fare/upgrade instrument will likely cut upgrade chances.

Being that United hasn't been doing it lately AFAIK and CO never did, I would say we are probably ok.

If i just became Gold Elite by transferring FQM's from my PP Card, and between now and December accrue another 25k FQMs, if i use those to upgrade to Platinum, what status will i have for the 2012-2013 year in the new program? Also, how much longer will the PP perk of $5k/1K FQM's be around for?

The PP perk will continue to stick around but will only give you EQM's up to 75k, Premier Platinum.
Additionally, they will no longer count for lifetime miles.

As for status, if you reach 75k EQM's by years end you should be Premier Platinum through 2013. Though, im not 100% sure on that.

Anyone know what will happen to vouchers when they combine. I flew on UA booked through CO, and ended up with vouchers from both. :-))

Stinks that FEQMs won't qualify for lifetime status anymore!

Anyway if you qualify this year you would get status until 01/31/13.

EQMs reset on 01/01.

In 2011 there's no limit of FEQMs applied and you can reach 1K if you have 100K EQMs.
2011 FEQMs applied will count towards lifetime status.

In 2012 there's a limit of 75K FEQMs that can be applied and you can't reach 1K if you transferred any FEQMs, 1K will be only for flying 100K miles.
2012 FEQMs applied will not count towards lifetime status.

I guess that Continental miles with no expiration date is about to end. Under the combined program they announced today that miles will expire after a year and a half

Yup. No expiration if you have a OnePass Plus or MileagePlus Explorer though.

With the benefits those cards have it's basically a really cheap way of getting nearly every Premier Silver status benefit (besides economy plus at checkin, if still available)
