And that's why it's impossible to find that level worker for jobs that need to be filled.

It's why there is a kosher liver shortage. All the workers who separate the liver went to get unemployment and never came back.
I'm not who you think I am.

$47,000 is a poverty wage?
The problem is the $30k mentioned.

OK, but all else being equal, who would pick $47,000 or even $40,000 to work over $47,000 to not work?

Entry level positions aren't supposed top ya as much as more advanced positions. Any good company should encourage growth.

I work in healthcare, and yes, CNAs get paid low. This is dictated by the abysmally low funding facilities get. Proposals have been floated to provide funding specifically for CNA and nursing to get higher salaries.

At the same time, every facility run by people with even a drop of brains encourages their staff to progress and get higher-level licenses, because we need those staff just as much, if not more.

Did you mean "or even $50,000"?

These numbers look fabricated and extremely exaggerated.
I did a quick calculation I think in New York its $500 per week regular unemployment plus covid unemployment which is 300 per week. Total about 39,000.00 per year. So yeh I think it’s a little exaggerated or could depend on state.

NY is $504/wk maximum. Somebody who earned $30,000 in 2019 would get less than $300/wk. (30,000 / 4 / 26 = 288)

The tweet is wildly detached from reality.

They’re factoring in the 10.2k that is not taxable (in 2020). Either way, PG is right and it’s exaggerated.

For about 17 weeks it was $600 extra.

Are you calculating in the $600 unemployment period?

I’m not calculating anything TBH, just contributing an aspect that wasn’t previously stated. It’s my gut that tells me PG is right, but him (and thus I) might very well be mistaken.
