I don't see how that could possibly be much different than it shows here without oppresive redisribution policies.

Well how was it different in the 80’s?

A large part of the spread is government redistribution from the poor to the rich with cheap credit, Fed actively maintaining asset values, and full-blown government ~~bailout~~ hand-out to stockholders like the banks and airlines.
