He came to crown heights on shabbos, that's why everyone ignored him.

He stopped me, I asked him to stop recording.
After a bit of insistence, he respected my request, and shut the camera.

Then we had a discussion on why I wanted the camera off, I explained to him Shabbos etc.

Then we discussed his question at hand, as well as why he got the different responses that he did.

His initial walk up and put you on the spot is too intense and doesn't elicit a good response, but the discussion that we had once we got past that, was good.

Contrary to popular belief, there is no חיוב whatsoever to make Sheva berachos each day.

מברכין ברכת חתנים בבית חתנים אחר ברכת המזון בכל סעודה וסעודה שאוכלין שם

How it is permitted to make sheva brachos in airport -- airport is not בבית חתנים - bracha lvatala.

But then it's a seuda exclusively prepared for the honor of the choson and kallah, and everybody that comes to participate are only coming in for the choson and kallah's honor. So when it's done in a restaurant, the entire place is rented out, or a simcha room is rented out so it's מקום מיחד - and not stam a place where other people are found and are also served to eat.

And then by the sephardim, they poskin sheva berachos is ONLY made in the home of the choson and kallah, otherwise if sheva berachos is outside their home, then they only make two berachos -- בורא פרי הגפן and אשר ברא ששון ושמחה.

Pretty sure those people gathered in that particular area at that particular time EXCLUSIVELY to honor the chosson and kallah, as is evidenced by them, you know, saying the brachos FOR the chassan and kallah.
