I feel angry.

I used a global upgrade from a GS account to waitlist a friend of mine. In the past these upgrades always cleared at the airport because when using a an upgrade from a GS account the traveler had GS priorities and was on top of the list. Well, I thought that this benefit survived the April 15 devaluation. Boy was I wrong, my friend is now on the bottom of the list.. Even though he is using a GPU from a GS account.

I double checked UA.com and here is what it says.

Waitlist confirmation priority is based on the Premier status of the traveler.

In the past it used to say

yea it really blows. MY fil is GS and i used to get fantastic service using his miles and upgrades. Now not so much.

Most GS reps will still manually clear your upgrade 5-1 days out even if the GS member is not traveling. If the first rep insists that they can only clear the GS member him self, don't argue, he will just notate the record and you loose your chance, just HUCA.

To be clear, say I am 1K, I don't have a UA CC on my account and I booked an award ticket using my miles for Dan who does have a UA CC, will Dan be eligible for upgrades?

Okay, I guess that's the case here. I don't know if the pax has a CC but I assume so. Didn't swallow the April 15 pill just yet
