I'm very well aware, and I specifically did not want to get into a political discussion about that. Now that you brought it up, I'll tell you that the president of the Young Israel begged Oorah to get involved and save the shul.

Save the Shul from what? Since when was Oorah involved in saving Shuls?

I can only guess, but a few facts I do know are
1) Oorah was founded in SI
2) The president of the shul was well acquainted with Oorah
3) Oorah had use for the building (pre-school, Torah Spot, and other programs)

Oorah got off easy last night. They have a prize in which you win 100 times your donation, up to $50,000.

The winner donated $30, and won $3,000.
