A friend just told me he was in cvs to buy one vanilla cards. He said store rep told him one vanilla is cash only. She was nice and let him try. Didn't go through. Afterwards she showed him memo which he says had one vanilla as cash only.

Any other reports or could it be there was some mistake made?

Indeed. I hope its just an error on my friends behalf. He isn't so involved buys occasionally. Hopefully its just his mistake.

The CVS, I usually go to is out of OVs from last couple of days. But they have Vanilla Visa Gift cards. These are also debit cards and can be loaded up to $500 for $4.95 fee. Can these be used for purchasing MOs at Walmart too? Because they have "Gift" imprinted on the cards, it might be difficult if the cashier questions me on card. Any other problems apart from that?

I went to a local CVS in Queens and the manager told me there was a memo from corporate directing the stores NOT to sell OV using a credit card. I responded by asking if he's mixing up Vanilla Reload with OV and he said this memo was very recent. I asked to see a print out of this memo but he said it was in an email and they didn't print it out. He suggested I go to Duane Reade to buy an OV. I went to another CVS and the manager there allowed me to buy an OV with a credit card.

Hopefully CVS doesn't hard code One Vanilla for Cash Only, but i wouldn't be surprised it they do.

Just bought in Northern NJ. The manager did mention that OV might be cash only, when I told him that he's probably thinking of VR, he said ok let's see if it goes thru.

He's not the type to mix it up, so I suspect that there was a memo but it's not hard coded [yet?].
