Request: Changing Money
« on: August 05, 2008, 07:37:45 AM »
I've got a few thousand pounds in the bank in england and i want to get it to america in dollars, i was wondering if anyone knows what the best way to do that is.

I was thinking to transfer it, maybe western union, or through my bank - they all charge a lot - i think it would be cheaper just to transfer it to dollars, maybe someone knows where to get good rates? My bank says they dont charge commission but i heard banks dont give such good rates.

Thanks for your help.

I dunno, I always just withdraw from ATM.. works best for me.. You'll have to do it in a few installments though.

Dunno about the UK, but in Brazil the way to do it was to find a gray market dealer/travel agent with favorable exchange rates.

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.
