Because the account holder can cancel your ticket at any time, and you will not know until you attempt check-in. It's happened. Especially if you trade or pay for your travel bank purchase via a non-recoverable method. Safest in this case would be paypal as a buyer seller (not Friends and family). Of course, knowing the seller is reliable can eliminate the need for payment processors that charge a fee.
