You're right, but sometimes if you need it urgent they might not have reservation available for a week or two, in that case it might be worth waiting an hour in the line then waiting 2 weeks for a reservation.

Don't know if this helps, but for many services you need to make a reservation to go into the dmv, found this link, which i couldn't seem to find anyone on the dmv website.

Don't try to be someone else , be who you are because everyone else is taken.

Any way to get an appointment to take a permit test in less then 3 months?
The first available appointments on the DMV website is in the end of April.
If it benefits even just one fellow DDFer, its worth posting it.

Make the 1st available appointment, you will most likely get an invitation and link to do it online much sooner than the appointment date.

I mailed the plates back to nys dmv via priority mail and dropped them at post office.  They say on dmv site they will use the postmarked date as date surrendered . I'm assuming i can now cancel my insurance? Or can get fined for having a lapse.
Thanks!

Best option would be, wait till they send you an f6. You can always cancel retroactively

I doubt your insurance company would even allow you to remove coverage without the code from the f6

And when surrendering plates can i remove the plate number from my ezpass account immediately or keep them in case there is any delay in toll activity (  assuming they don't reissue the plates to someone else immediately)?
Thanks!

probably won't get an appointment right away, but you can make an appointment online.
Always use an Amex, you'll thank me one day.
