Don't they come with their own power source?
I just found a new supply of forks!

Some do and some don't
So why don't you just get one which does?
Just because things turned out a certain way doesn't mean you were right.

Look at the specs. One of them is a dimmer so more money. There are also different wattages. Does the manufacturer recommend a PS?

can someone please explain to me why/how some timers aren't compatible to led lights?
Quote
This switch requires a MINIMUM 40 watts and MAXIMUM 500 watts to function. This switch will not work with LED or CFL type lighting.

is it only led's that might have issues but they all work with incandescent bulbs?

Neutral goes directly to the bulb and the timer switches the hot.
ETA: Look at the timer as a simple light switch.

You're right I don't understand how the timer works with out a full circuit it only has the hot, in 2nd grade i was taught that in order for anything to work with electricity you need a full circuit,
I understand how to wire it I dont understand how it works.
Please don't get moster involved just answer me quickly thanks.
