CORRECTION: 229.4 square meters

Sorry- I added something wrong.
Area of large square: 175.8 m2
Area of lower triangle: 39.6 m2 (large triangle minus tiny side triangle)
Area of triangle at right: 14 m(a little more approximate because of tiny corner at the bottom)
Aargh!  Please don't post one of these again  >:( (...but it was fun  :) )

Similar results to @ckmk47.  I got approximately 233m2 (175.8+13.18+44.58)

Area of large square: 175.82 (15.98x11)
Area of "triangle" at right: 13.18 m(1/2 (1.22+1.1) (10.52+.1.6)-.88)  where .88= 1/2 ((1.22+1.1) x 1 .6)and 1.12+1.62=1.942
Area of lower triangle: 44.58 m2 (two large triangles minus tiny left side triangle) = 38.83+8.29-2.54
                                    where top triangle = 1/2 (4.86x15.98)
and bottom triangle uses formula (perimeter = 17.07+1.05+16.7=17.41)
                                    Area =  √---of ( p(p-a)(p-b)(p-c) ) where p is half the perimeter or  1/2(a+b+c)  (Heron's Formula)
                                    and tiny left triangle = 1/2 (1.07x4.86) where 1.072+4.742=4.862

Hi Alexsei
My name is Elliott Dobbs and I'm the founder of SketchAndCalc.com  :)

I'm grateful for the mention here on DansDeals. You mention you had difficulty getting the numbers to match the plans, and I wanted to offer some advice.

SketchAndCalc uses pure coordinate geometry math to calculate area, so it's possible the plan isn't to perfect scale. Once you have the rough shape you can adjust each line length to match the plan in two ways:

1. Manually, by clicking a vertex and adjust it's position using your keyboards cursor keys until the number match the plan.

2. Automatically, by clicking a length label and entering in the value. You'll note that once the label is selected it points to the vertex that will move when entering in a new value. Clicking again toggles between vertices.

It's worth pointing out that setting the drawing scale when you import is important, by drawing a known length as accurately as possible. I'd recommend nominating the longest length when setting the drawing scale. Anyway, I hope these tips prove helpful, I've added a 1 minute video intro below.

Cheers
Elliott

Hey--that's  8) .  There is some software out there that scours the web for the mention of your website?

Hey srap
 ;D Yep, I'm using Mention.com.

It's pretty handy, and allows me to find out how folks are using sketchandcalc.

I found Google Alerts to be quite limited.

"Google Alerts only sends you email if new articles, webpages or blog posts make it into the top ten Google News results, the top twenty Google Web Search results or top ten Google Blog Search results for your query. If the top results remain the same for a while, you won't receive email on your topic."

The term 'SketchAndCalc' or 'Area Calculator' isn't very numerous, and Mention.com seems to track social mentions too. This is important to me at the moment, as mentioning SketchAndCalc.com on Twitter, Google+ or Facebook gives users free access for 24 hours.

I am not sure what you want clarified but they are the same price and it comes out to about $.0206 per piece.

perhaps what OP is referring to is that under the single pack, it’s says 3 cents each and the 4 pack says 2? (2 cents is the correct one btw)

Right - so why is the 4-pack 'best value'?

At the risk of sounding overly nitpicky here are my thoughts...

perhaps what OP is referring to

I myself wasn't very clear in what I was saying. I saw two possible mistakes;

under the single pack, it’s says 3 cents each and the 4 pack says 2?
and
why is the 4-pack 'best value'?

My answer was that they are both errors and it shouldn't say $.03 or best value. (Perhaps the first error led to the second one.)

It has 2 day shipping

If it was free 2 day shipping then perhaps you could say that but paid shipping does not make it a better value.

Trying to figure out how them come up with the investment rate for t-bills.
Here are yesterday's rates.
This gets you close but no cigar: Excel =Sum(100-Price)/(# of weeks*7)*365/Price*100

Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Often they use 360 days for the calculations -  not 365.

This formula is returning the APR and not the APY. What would I change to get it to return the APY?
Here is how to covert APY/APR: https://www.mymoneyblog.com/apy_to_apr_calc.html

I don't think it's a math problem specifically I believe it was something to do with how they calculate the apy perhaps how often they compound.
