Put in the barcode?  What does that mean?
I scratched off the code for the free $15 but haven't even take the devices out of the package.  No need for them.  I'll mail all 3 to Brooklyn if you want for actual shipping cost.  I have no need for them.

I ordered one and then 2 minutes later I ordered the other two in a separate order. I received the shipping confirmation only on the 1st unit and it came!! Now I have the 15 dollar credit in my PP account!

... As in: anyone can just plug it into phone and use it and the programming for the PayPal account all goes through the app?

TBH I have no interest in using it, I offered my six to a local Moised that could use them, and they asked me if I know how to set it up.....
Googled a fair bit but found no explicit clarification.

Yes, it's just a reader.

It funnels info from the card to your phone, the same way an earphone would transfer info from your phone to the ear piece, all while the programming is in the phone itself.

Is it safe to withdraw the credit to linked checking account, or will that upset them?

I did withraw the credit to my checking account together with some other money I had been sent by people, and I just got the following notification.

Your account access has been limited for the following reason(s):
Jun 13, 2014: We need a little bit more information about some money you recently received or withdrew.

At face value the wording makes it sound more like some of the money I got seems suspicious, but that may just be diplomacy.
Time will tell.

UPDATE 1:  Just called, and was told my account has been closed because of the rebates.  I asked why, he put me on hold and I got cut off.  caling back.

UPDATE 2: Glad I got cut off.  first rep spoke with an extreme monotone and sounded either depressed or terribly bored.  Second rep was cheerful and removed limitation.  I asked why it was applied in the first place, she said it seems that it was due to a miscommunication in the back office.

I got a phone call where she accused me of doing something wrong-I argued for a few minutes--was pointless

much nicer than the one who called me to tell me I was suspended--
I asked her why her company would offer three per account if it would then make them close my account--she just repeated her robo-talk--
and kept accusing me of getting the device without intentions of using it--
I told her maybe I will use it--she says but you havent used it--I argued--that I just got it yesterday--but got nowhere--logic wasnt working--
oh well will update for all the others coming here today to report they were closed

Supervisor--wanted to know what I was using the readers for--told him we have a small business out of the house and wanted to try using this device to accept payments instead of checks--
He seemed to like that and restored the account..

It seems like thats what they wanted to know--make something up and it should work BH
