One Way award ticket with stop-over?
« on: November 22, 2010, 02:55:58 PM »
I'm pretty much in the know regarding standard award routings, but not so knowledgeable about the unusual award opportunities. I would like to go one way from TLV to NYC-PHL and stop in Europe. If possible, do an open jaw as well. Any creative ideas? Should I book two separate AA awards? How can I best maximize each one? Should I take a cheap flight to Europe and just book an award from my last stop to the US?...

EasyJet to Europe. Maybe there's a way but I'm unaware.

The only Airlines that I can think of that allow stopovers on one-way mileage bookings are BA, BMI and AF(only on their own flights)

If flying coach and off-peak, two AA awards are cheaper.
AA will only allow a stop-over in the US gateway city (city that you enter/exit the country).

Apparently if you get the right agent at BA you can book as many stopovers as you want on a one way as long as they are in a continuing direction, no back tracking...
