Eric Cantor

For anyone that follows politics this is a crazy story. He's the only Jewish Republican in congress would have been the first Jewish speaker and is one of Israel's greatest supporters.

Can he still run in the general election as an independent perhaps, and if he wins, convert back to the republican party?

He can, but it would have to be as a write in, so a real long shot.

Can't "run", but can be elected.

All that might be true, but the voters could care less about that. He couldn't make up his mind on amnesty. & wasn't the tea party over ? Guess not

True but the above is why I am disappointed. I find it strange that a professor of economics is anti immigration reform

Crazy how the tea party is killing the GOP & it's brightest stars & making the next president guaranteed to be a democrat again by voting in loonies who the general public will never vote for

The primary system in this country needlessly polarises congress.

The GOP had their chance with McCain & Romney. Very far from tea party material. Didn't work. They want the senate more than the WH

Do we still have a congress ? Haven't heard from them since last election.

really now..

Find me one republican who won't offer you their left arm for the WH.

As for McCain, he ran at a time when Americans were weary with bush/republican leadership & wanted a change,
& Romney was stam a douch who bought the candidacy, no one ever liked him

It's still better than the European parliamentary system. Those governments get nothing done and collapse over every small item.

Mostly true, though in swing districts, it has an opposite effect.
