Alitalia Business Award Availability

looking to fly FCO - JFK on June 27.
I see 1 Biz class seat (class Z) available on Expertflyer for alitalia flight AZ 608.
I see same availability using the FlyingBlue engine for 62.5K miles plus $220.47 in fees.

but when i call up alitalia itself and try to book it, they tell me no award space is available.

Has anyone had this situation before? are Expertflyer and FB just showing dummy availability that doesnt exist? or is it some incompetence on alitalia agents part and its possible to book this award?

Exactly. Unfortunately, the agents at the AZ call center are horrific.
You'll have better luck calling during their daytime.

Call during their daytime.

now, even Delta is showing the flight as available, but none of alitalia agents can find it, and their website isn't pulling it up either.

Like it was said, Alitalia non-day time reps are useless. You need to call them during the day so you get their good reps. Tomorrow morning wake up extra early or stay up very late

Note that a lot of AZ availability can not be booked by Delta. I had that issue last summer. It's phantom. BOS-FCO seemed the most accurate.
