I stopped watching it last year already because there was way to much focus on the judges and too few acts. It seemed like more time of the episode was devoted to shtick etc than to actual acts.

It also gets really dragged out with the quarter finals, semi finals etc. And a 45 min show for the results is silly - I just skipped through to the 1 minute where they announced the results for each group.

Now I just watch the occasional good act on youtube and save lots of time!

The recent ventriloquist was really good. I enjoyed him. Hard act to do well enough to impress in.

I'm in it again this year, but I always bow out in the last couple of weeks when the good acts get voted off and the makes it through. I'm looking at you Olathe dog crap from 3 years ago

I loved that act. But he didn't win!  That was more a ventriloquist act that trained hus dog to move his moutg every time he poked it. But it was cool.

That's not who won, nor is the dog the act. The dog is just the ventriloquist dummy, hard to consider that a dog act. The actual winner could more accurately be called a dog act.

It's also annoying that whenever a magician comes on and performs some trick that I've seen a million times before on youtube the judges all act shocked as anything!

That and doing tricks on TV in which the Move is easily spotter on rewinding or clear evidence of a switch is seen (like the guy who signed the cards last week and the signature was different)

YouTube is sort of awful that way. Takes away all your sense of wonder and awe.


I was recently at a local Jewish event where they had a boy sing the National Anthem. He did an unbelievable job. I asked my friend next to me what he thought and he said it was ok. I responded that I thought it was incredible and he said the kid probably was really amazing  and he honestly couldn't think of someone he knew personally who could sing like that but he's so used to seeing just that on YouTube.  Kinda sad.

I did like the "Piff the Magic Dragon" act. More as a comedian than a magician though 
Did anyone notice that it seems like he was making a bracha right before drinking out of Heidi's cup?
I couldnt find anything on his bio about him being Jewish so it must have been something else but it had me take a second look.
