40k Capital One Venture Rewards Offer

Capital One has increased the sign up bonus to 40,000 miles on their venture rewards product. Bonus is usually 20k miles. Annual fee of $59 waived first year.

Bonus was 50k back in january and was 100k about two years ago. I'm passing because capital one does a hard pull on all three credit bureaus.

You must have missed the bit where I said I'm passing because of the three hard pulls. Points aren't that terrible, 1c as statement credit against travel expenses. 1c on gift cards. $400 bonus.

Not everybody wants airline miles/hotel points. I already have way to many of those from work. If it was just one bureau pull I would've jumped on it. Shame freezing reports doesn't work.

So I just discovered that these points can be used similar to Barclays Arrival points. Basically, you can get a statement credit for any type of travel, including gas, car rental etc. Further, if you call them up, as oppose to going online, you can get the statement credit for every last penny.

Question is, though, if we can cash out of it in the same manner as people here cash out of Barclays?

For those of us who have Capital One Rewards or CB cards it seems like they are ready to allow us to combine our Points/CB between multiple cards again. They took away that functionality about a year ago and the FAQs have been updated once again allowing transfers. I dont see a button to do it yet on their website. I chatted with them and they offered to do it for me while we chatted. I'd rather control which points i transfer where.
