is this good for an american travelling to israel? Would it remove whatever is in there that can  cause stomach issues?

Doesn't remove viruses and human waste. Only bacteria.  :o

i think the americans are concerned about bacteria so it should be helpful. Better than lugging bottled water everywhere.

A little OT but are you guys who are american tourists  drinking the regular water without problems?
